The optics are 18 times better than your eye

You cannot see most astronomical objects with your naked eye. Looking through the finder scope gives you 18X more light, allowing many astronomical objects to become visible to your eye. The 6x30 finder scope has a small 30mm aperture objective and 6X magnification - an extremely useful little telescope.

Large field of view plus crosshairs

The Skywatcher finder scope gives you a wide field of view to make locating objects that much easier. Imagine you have the telescope roughly, not yet precisely, pointed at object. The large field of view means you can already see the object at the edge of the image. The built-in crosshairs now come to your aid.
