Doublet 80ED F7 Refractor - ASKAR

Askar revisits the classic 80ED. This ultra-portable and versatile refractor weighs only 2 kg and can be used for both visual and photography thanks to its optional accessories.

It is a Doublet ED, meaning it has two lenses, one of which is ED-coated to ensure clean color images without chromatic aberrations.

Compact and lightweight

The dew shield screws directly onto the tube and stores upside down to minimize the size of the refractor for transport. It measures only 40 cm and weighs only 2 kg, making it perfect for travel and can be supported by even the smallest mounts.

It features a standard Vixen dovetail and a 1/4 thread for tripod mounting.

Easy and precise focusing

The 2" focuser is equipped with a R&P focusing adjustment and allows for a 7cm focusing travel for maximum compatibility with a wide range of equipment and extreme precision.

The focuser can easily be equipped with a motorized focuser for astrophotography thanks to its integrated thread.

The focuser is also equipped with a 360° field rotator and a 2" to M48 filter adapter.

You will also find two finderscope mounts allowing you to adapt multiple equipment simultaneously.

Astrophotography with the 80 mm ED refractor

Photographing the moon and planets is no problem thanks to the well-corrected color error and the comfortable working distance. Three correctors specially calculated for the ED are available for deep-sky photography. The correctors are simply screwed to the focuser using the M58x1 thread. The following correctors are available:

•  1.0x flattener - The focal length of 560 mm and the focal ratio of f/7 remain unchanged.
•  0.85x corrector - The focal length is reduced to 476 mm and the focal ratio is improved to f/5.95.
•  0.7x corrector - The focal length is reduced to 392 mm and the focal ratio is improved to f/4.9.
