The SKY-WATCHER STAR ADVENTUTURE GTI ECAUTORIAL MONTOR is halfway between a photographic equatorial, star adventurer 2i, and a small classic equatorial mount, type neq3-2 or eqm-35, almost a missing link bringing the best of the two supports . It also fills a lack between the two types of mounts, adding automatic pointing and self -driving functionalities to the photographic equatorial, increasing the transportability and compactness of the classic equatorial mount.
Finally, it adopts the latest connectivity standards and diversifies driving modes, wireless in Wi-Fi from a smartphone or tablet, wired in USB from a computer or with a classic Synscan racket (optional).

By appointing it Star Adventureut GTI, Sky-Watcher resolutely considers it as an evolution of the star Adventureur 2i model, an emblematic frame of the brand since 2014 and reference in itinerant astrophotography. Above all, it is a question of adding to the latter the automatic pointing and full autoguidation features which was lacking, while allowing the assembly of compact optical tubes for large field imaging.
However, it would be necessary to consider GTI more as a reduced version of a classic equatorial frame. Indeed, due to the addition of Goto pointing, the GTI has lost the modularity of its 2i little sister. The base is no longer removable and the head of the frame is automatically equipped with a fixed declination axis. Likewise, the use of the counterweight bar, optional on 2i, becomes imperative on the GTI.
That said, the star-adventurer GTI remains extremely compact, very close to 2i. The weight of the complete mount is only 2.5 kg, excluding counterweight. The charging weight is identical but the stability is increased by the presence of a better dimensioned equatorial base, solidarity of the head and without pivot, and a larger counterweight bar. Notable improvement, the latter can now be attached to two different places, depending on the latitude of the observation site.
Ultra-transportable, the star adventurer GTI is designed for astrophotography with a telephoto lens or with a small telescope of the 72ed Sky-Watcher template, equipped with a home socket system. It is therefore perfect for travelers wishing to take a complete configuration under skies more conducive to the imagery of the deep sky with large field.
The SYNSCAN GOTO monitoring and pointing system
The Star Adventureur GTI mount is equipped with a double-axis engine and the Sky-Watcher Synscan system, usually equipping the brand's most advanced frames. This system monitors the stars, that is to say that it compensates for the movement of rotation of the earth once the frame is put in the polar station. It also provides automatic pointing of celestial objects after initialization on one or more reference stars. Far from being a simple gadget for a mount of this template, wearing a small diameter tube, the Synscan system allows you to quickly point out nebulae or invisible galaxies which will only reveal their presence on the photographs.
The mount incorporates a Wi-Fi interface, a USB 2.0 interface, an RJ12 ST4 compatible Autoguidage sheet, an RJ45 sheet intended for the connection of a classic Synscan racket and a Jack sheet for controlling the trigger of photographic boxes. Management is therefore possible using three different devices: a smartphone or tablet (via the free Synscan Pro application), a computer (via a USB 2.0 cord not supplied) and by a Synscan racket (optional).
