Harmonic Wave 150I Mount - Skywatcher

Sky-Watcher now offers a range of harmonic drive mounts. This new type of mount is revolutionary because it allows for a mount capable of supporting heavy loads... yet lightweight and compact! This feat is achieved through a special motorization: the use of elliptical gearboxes and synchronous belts, a proven technology used in robotics and aeronautics.

The largest model in the "Wave" series, the 150i, supports 15 kg (without counterweight) and up to 25 kg (with counterweight)... while weighing less than 6 kg! It can be used in either azimuthal or equatorial mode, controlled either via a smartphone app (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) or a computer (USB cable).

Harmonic drive motorization

This type of motorization is based on a deformation wave gear, composed of 3 elements: an elliptical hub (the wave generator), a deformable crown linked to the output shaft and an external crown secured to the frame of the mount. This assembly constitutes an elliptical reducer which offers a very high transmission ratio, 300:1 in the case of the Sky-Watcher 150i mount. The weight/capacity ratio is then astonishing... the mount at first glance seems undersized "and yet, it turns" to paraphrase Galileo.

The powerful torque generated by the motor allows the mount to be driven quickly... up to 7.5°/sec! With applications such as Satellite Tracker for Windows, compatible with the SynScan Pro, you can track satellites even at high speeds... and even the International Space Station (ISS)!
Automated Go-To Pointing System
La monture Sky-Watcher Wave 150i est utilisable soit en position équatoriale, soit en position azimutale. The Wave 150i mount features a dual-axis motor for tracking, movement, and guidance. Automatic GOTO, using a database of 42,000 celestial objects, is performed via the smartphone app or third-party programs via an ASCOM driver. ZWO ASIAIR, PrimaLuceLab Eagle, and other control units are also compatible. The mount can be controlled either via integrated Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, managed by the app, or via a wired (USB) connection.

This mount's rich features are complemented by full RA axis locking for easy and safe mounting of optional counterweights, intelligent cable management, RA and DEC limit adjustment, and HOME position adjustment. The Wave 150i also features a red LED illumination for the spirit level and a latitude indicator for easy viewing even in the dark.
